There’s more

I have good news as we transition from one year to the next … there’s more.  More what?  Glad you asked 🙂 .

  • There’s more love … whether you are able to love yourself or not, your Heavenly Father loves you and will just keep on loving you until you are able to receive His love.  (Jeremiah 31:3)
  • And then, there’s more.  When we are finally able come out of agreement with the lies the accuser has entwined into our beliefs to destroy us (John 10:10) and receive the truth of God’s love for us that is only the beginning.  Listen to Paul’s prayer for the Ephesians:

My response is to get down on my knees before the Father,
this magnificent Father who parcels out all heaven and earth.
I ask him to strengthen you by his Spirit—
not a brute strength but a glorious inner strength—
that Christ will live in you as you open the door and invite him in.
And I ask him that with both feet planted firmly on love,
you’ll be able to take in with all followers of Jesus
the extravagant dimensions of Christ’s love.
Reach out and experience the breadth!
Test its length!
Plumb the depths!
Rise to the heights!
Live full lives, full in the fullness of God.
Ephesians 3:14-19 – The Message

  • And then, there’s more! As you experience the breadth, length, depth, and height of God’s love for you so that your heart becomes saturated and “God loves me” moves from being a mental assent to being the landlord of your heart , you become equipped to to recognize both His voice and the voice of the accuser so that you don’t have to live in the torment of self-hatred and self-condemnation any more.  How?  If you are hearing condemnation … that’s not your Heavenly Father.

So now there is no condemnation
for those who belong to Christ Jesus.
Romans 8:1

Who then will condemn us?
No one—for Christ Jesus died for us
and was raised to life for us,
and he is sitting in the place of honor at God’s right hand,
pleading for us.
Romans 8:34

  • An then, there’s more.  Think of the 2 truths above as the padding a football player puts on to play the game.  The players expect the blows, not because they deserve them but because it is part of facing your opponent.  The game of life is no different.  (John 16:33) .

Football Pads

Wear these truths as padding for when the accuser comes at you with a blow of self-doubt, self-hatred, or self-condemnation.  Huddle up with your Heavenly Father and ask Him for His love (John 3:16-17); His light (John 1:4-5) that cannot be quenched by any darkness; and His truth (John 14:6) … all otherwise known as JESUS … to reveal the accuser for who he is and what he is doing.

A couple of nights ago, I had a very short dream  … but oh what a message it carried.  It focused my attention on “there’s more” and the choices I have about God’s more.

In the dream one of my first teachers on my journey of inner healing was holding on tight to what looked like “light boxes” and vigorously did not want to let go.  That’s the dream.  I told you it was short.

Revelation came to me that I have held on very tightly to the light that my Heavenly Father poured into my life through these first teachings.  But I also heard, “how can you ever have more if you will not let go of what you already have?”  Why is that important?  Because my Heavenly Father does not want me to be limited by  “only what I can hold”.  He has so much more to give to me – more light, more truth, more of all of all my Heavenly Father, Jesus and the Holy Spirit are.

I was awakened from the dream by a crashing sound but when I looked around me — nothing had fallen.  I looked at my clock – 7:16 AM.  I heard Psalm 71:6 so I looked it up.

It was you who supported me from the day I was born,
loving me, helping me through my life’s journey.
You’ve made me into a miracle;
no wonder I trust you and praise you forever!
Many marvel at my success,
but I know it is all because of you, my mighty Protector!
Psalm 71:6-7
The Passion Translation – Brian Simmons

Ding! Ding! Ding!  …. my Heavenly Father was kind enough to reveal me to me.  The One Who Loves Me Most showed me how the accuser had subtly tried to steal God’s more for me by convincing me I have to hold tightly …. hmmmmm …. more like hold with all my might to all I’ve learned so I can draw on that resource to keep myself safe.  NOT TRUE!!

Rather, if I continually keep my myself in a posture to receive, i.e., keep my hands/heart open so that I can receive exactly what I need for the moment from our Heavenly Father (Hebrews 4:16) there is so much more He is able to provide for me!

Now there’s a reason to hope as we enter the New Year!  My prayer for you is our Heavenly Father will set you free from the fear you will not have what you need when you need it in order that you can open your heart, your hands, your mind … all of who you are … to receive from the One who is eternal with no beginning and no end (Psalm 90:2 and Psalm 93:2) the more He has for you!

  1. It went very well with my son and his wife. They did decide to go back on Tuesday instead of Wed. as they had a lot to do at home, but that gave me an extra day of real vacation which I am enjoying. Deena
