When dreams die

I was told this week my dream would not happen. So now, in the natural, it’s impossible.

Hmmm could this be a God opportunity?

Moses gave up all he had for his dream for the Jews to be set free.  For doing that he was kicked out of Egypt and told he had made things worse for the people he wanted to help.  When Moses stopped  his own efforts God showed up to fulfill the dream. (Exodus 3)

Caleb and Joshua – the dream about entering into the promised land was about to come true.  (Numbers 13-14) God leads them out to see what He had promised to them.  What do they find – giants in the land.  Those around them believed the dream had died and was impossible.  Caleb and Joshua saw they same giants and chose to believe  the One who gave them the dream was the One who could make it come true.

I know my dream is godly.  I have searched the scriptures and know my dream and desire align with my Heavenly Father’s Word & His purposes.  What I don’t know is what the fulfillment of that dream looks like.  I don’t get to dictate those details and actually that is a big burden lifted.  I can leave it with the Creator of All to work that out.

My dear friend reminded me this morning that whether or not those around us know God is in their plans and that He has their future in His hands, He does regardless.

Yes, the One who gives the dreams is the One who can make them come true.  Who will you believe?  The people in your face saying impossible or the God who makes the impossible, possible (Mark 10:27)?  It means not only trusting Him with your dreams but trusting him with your heart to keep it safe along the journey.

Shortly after I had the above revelation this morning, I heard my pastor say “because Jesus had such a full revelation of God’s mercy, he had no concern whatsoever for whatever needs he had”.   Well, there you have it.  Coincidence?  I don’t think so.

The One whose name is Merciful, Gracious, Slow to Anger and Abounding in Loving Kindness and Truth (Exodus 34:6) is the One who holds my dreams and my heart in His hands.  I think I’m safe to dream.  How about you?
